These
presentations covered a wide array of waste prevention issues from
the design perspectives to UK policy. The aim was for delegates
to leave being aware of up to date information from the NRWF that
they can develop and apply within their own organisation. Following
these sessions was the opportunity for participation within discussions
directed by expert facilitators. These discussions provided interesting
feedback on newly published and yet to be published work and ensured
that the expert knowledge available within the conference was utilised.
The
conference was a success in investigating both how waste prevention
policy is developing and the role that the NRWF has had in this,
and also in looking forward to the future. In particular Mike Read's
presentation spoke of his determination to create a new “network,
forum or thing!!” that will develop the work of the NRWF in bringing
together organisations from a broader spectrum to address the many
difficulties in working towards waste minimisation. Delegates provided
Mike with valuable insight into how they would like to see this
develop.
We
would like to thank all the delegates who attended the conference
making it the success it was, and moreover all the members of the
NRWF over the years for their support throughout its existence.
We look forward to your progression towards a low waste future.
